WWE Survivor Series

WWE Survivor Series is the 2nd-longest running pay-per-view in WWE’s history, right behind WrestleMania. There have been memorable matches in its rich history. It generally takes place in the fall; in 2007, it took place on November 18. The Survivor Series can feature a “Hell in a Cell” match, though it’s rare. It’s a kind of professional wrestling match where the ring and ringside area are enclosed in a roofed steel cell that is 16 feet, or, even more recently, 20 feet from the ground. There have only been 15 of these matches in WWE since 1997, when the first one took place. Because of the logistical difficulties in getting them set up, their dangerous nature and the fact that they’re seen as a special attraction, these matches are usually seen at pay-per-view events only; there were 2 matches shown on regular TV and they were both on Raw in 1998. >> More alt

About The WWE Survivor Series

The match and cell are billed as being very dangerous; Michael Cole and Tazz even said it was the most dreadful match in WWE and Jim Ross said the cell was a “devil’s playground custom built for injury.” The cell is different than a usual cage match because it has a roof and a wide space between the ring apron and the cell. Usually, the cell door is locked during the match. In spite of this, a lot of Hell in a Cell matches have seen wrestlers fighting out of and on top of the cell. In the first Cell match, the door was unlocked to get an injured cameraman out; this led to Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker fighting atop the cage. Every Hell in a Cell match has involved Triple H or The Undertaker in some way; this includes the match in 1998 between Kane and Mankind. The Undertaker, though not officially in the match, came and tried to interfere, which lead to the match becoming a no contest. Though, Triple H and The Undertaker participated in the Six-Way Hell in a Cell match at Armageddon 2000. The latest Hell in a Cell match was between Batista and The Undertaker. Batista beat The Undertaker to keep the World Heavyweight Championship title; this match was interfered with by Edge.
