About The Valentines
Once in a while Valentines will have big-name bands like Thirty Seconds to Mars despite the fact that it has more of a dive bar atmosphere to it. Smaller bands from around the area perform at the club usually, any given day of the week. Periodically Valentines will take a break from the scheduled group or concert and will have an open mic night or a night of quiet, most often on a Wednesday.
Originally a warehouse, Valentines was transformed into a bar by Keith Vanderhoff in 1999. The owner wished to own a bar similar to his favorite hangout while he was in his early-20s and lived in Houston. Valentines has since become the most welcoming club in the city for concerts as well as to have a cocktail.
