The Target Center is a beautiful arena located in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, which is the official home to the Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association and the Minnesota Lynx of the Women's National Basketball Association. In 1996, the Target Center was also home to the Arena Football League team Minnesota Fighting Pike. As Target Corporation currently sponsors the arena; hence it is named as Target Center.

The most striking feature of the Target Center is that it has the designation of being the first indoor arena that is a completely non-smoking facility. Built at a cost of $104 million dollars, the Target Center opened its doors for the sport loving local people on October 13th, 1990. To build this world-class entertainment facility in an 830,000 square feet area, it is the hard work of innumerable people for some 27 months. The Target Center has a seating capacity of 19,000 people at any given time. There are almost 18,500 permanent, theatre-style seats along with additional temporary seating possibilities in the Target Center.
Mary Wolfenson and Harvey Raftner originally owned the Target Center but however it was sold to the City of Minneapolis in 1995. Most recently, the management of Target Center was changed from Clear Channel Entertainment to Midwest Entertainment Group in 2004. This indoor arena was designed to cater to the requirements of different types of entertainment shows ranging from sport events to live concerts, family shows to moto-cross. With big names in the entertainment industry like U2, Motley Crue, Snoop Dogg, Elton John, Bon Jovi, Celtic Tiger, Green Day, Sting, Jimmy Buffett and Disney on Ice performing here, there is always a rush for tickets at Target Center.
