Check The Starlight Theater in Kansas City was initially opened in the year 1950 with a production of 'Thrills of a Century' that celebrated the 100th anniversary of Kansas City. On June 25, 1951, the theater staged the operetta 'The Desert Song' with composer Sigmund Romberg making a guest appearance. The former U.S. President, Harry S. Truman made an appearance in the musical 'Mr. President' that was staged in the year 1964. The theater has won many awards such as the Gold awards for Best Theater and Best Performing Arts Venue at the Ingram's Best of Business Kansas City Awards in the year 2007.
The Starlight Theater is a prominent entertainment venue in Kansas City and has a seating capacity of around 8,105 people. In the year 2008, the venue will host a number of events that include performances by the Cure, Sheryl Crow, Rush, James Taylor, Steve Miller Band & Joe Cocker and Katt Williams, besides some Broadway shows such as 'The Drowsy Chaperone', 'The Music Man’ and 'Fiddler on the Roof'.
