The Prudential Center is proud to be the first major league sports venue in the New York metropolitan area after the Brendan Byrne Arena. Built with the hope that it will help in the revitalization of Newark and it will not be wrong to say that the Prudential Center has achieved that goal to some extent. Architects Morris Adjmi and facility specialists HOK designed the Prudential Center. It has a seating capacity of 17,625 seats for hockey, 17,500 for soccer, 18,500 for basketball and over 17,500 for end stage concerts.
There are many outstanding facilities at the Prudential Center, such as two club lounges, a goal bar, terrace area and a 350-seat gourmet restaurant. It is turning out to be New Jersey's best destination for hockey, college basketball, indoor soccer, concerts, family shows and special events. The Prudential Center is in fact changing the face of downtown Newark and making it a popular destination place for sports and live entertainment in the region.
