The new Key Arena at the popular Seattle Center was officially completed in late October and just within a few months of its opening, it has already hosted a number of world-class concerts and several Thunderbirds and Sonics games. This new facility of the Seattle Center in the form of Key Arena was constructed with the huge foundations of the former Coliseum. Boasting approximately 3,000 additional seats, three new seating levels, improved sight lines and expanded concessions; the Key Arena has done wonders.

Located at the north of downtown Seattle, USA on the grounds of Seattle Center, the Key Arena is the primary home to the Seattle SuperSonics of the National Basketball Association. This indoor arena is also home to the Seattle Storm of the Women's National Basketball Association and the Seattle Thunderbirds, a junior hockey team in the Western Hockey League. The Key Arena has hosted the 1974 NBA All-Star Game and the Memorial Cup of the Thunderbirds in 1992. The arena is also often used for non-athletic entertainment purposes, such as ice shows, circuses and concerts.
The Key Arena opened its door for the local residents in 1962 as the Seattle Center Coliseum. However, the building was completely rebuilt during 1994 and 1995. The re-built $73 million building is one of the few buildings of its kind in the nation. The Key Arena is surrounded by a picturesque view that involves 9,000 plants in a total area of 32,000 square feet.
