Kaufman Hall is a locally-renowned theater that has a new performance in residence most of the year. Those dramatic pieces remain for runs that last a few months, but still manage to have multiple dramatic work scheduled throughout the week. Instead of respected actors and actresses like a Brian Dennehy or a Amy Spanger, Kaufman Hall’s dramatic pieces generally have rising actors populating the cast.
Kaufman Hall was originally known as The Anyplace, but Kirk Greczkowski purchased the playhouse from Hugh Richardson in 1988. The owner went to a playhouse in Palermo one summer and liked it so much he based his venue on it. Kaufman Hall has now evolved into the most renowned theater locally to enjoy live performances.
