The first concert to be held at the venue was by Jesse Colin Young. The Gorge Amphitheater has entertained people with superb performances by Van Halen, Rush, Jimmy Page & Robert Plant, The Who, Metallica, Sting, Bob Dylan, Aerosmith, Phish, Dave Matthews Band, Paul Simon, Steely Dan, Kiss, Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, Britney Spears and many more.
The Gorge Amphitheater has a seating capacity of around 20,000 people. It has been a host to some of the biggest concerts especially during the summer months. The year 2008 will witness some wonderful events that include Sasquatch! Festival, the Vans Warped Tour and performances by Rush, Steve Miller Band, the Police, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Jack Johnson and Dave Matthews Band.
