With a seating capacity of 15,274-seats, the DTE Energy Music Theatre is located in Clarkston, Michigan. Initially, the DTE Energy Music Theatre used to be known as the Pine Knob Music Theatre. The change in the name happened in early 2001 when DTE Energy purchased the naming rights for a $10 million deal.

The doors of the DTE Energy Music Theatre were opened in a grand way in June 1972. The day was marked by a live concert of Andy Williams. Apart from the concert featuring teen idol David Cassidy, the venue has been used to host many of the greatest stars in the music industry. Chicago has performed at the DTE Energy Music Theatre almost every year since 1972, while the concert season for spring is usually opened by a show of Eddie Money. It also hosts the Clarkston High School graduation ceremony.
