The Dover International Speedway is a racetrack located in Dover, Delaware. The Dover Motorsports owns and operates the track that was inaugurated in the year 1969. It is a 1-mile long oval track with 24 degrees banking at the turns and 9 degrees banking at the straights. The frontstretch and backstretch are both 1,027 feet long.

The first race to be held at the Dover International Speedway was the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series that was won by Richard Petty. The speedway has been host to some major racing events such as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the NASCAR Nationwide Series, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, the NASCAR Busch East Series and the Indy Racing League. Some of the famous drivers who have created records at the venue are Jeremy Mayfield, Mark Martin, David Green, Brian Vickers, David Starr and Ted Musgrave.
The Dover International Speedway continues to entertain the people of Dover by hosting some exciting races. It has a seating capacity of around 135,000 people. Some of the racing events to be held in the year 2008 include the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Dover 400, the NASCAR Nationwide Series Helluva Good! 200, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series AAA Insurance 200 and the NASCAR Camping World Series Sunoco 150.
