On November 3, 1917, the Wisconsin Badgers football team inaugurated the new stadium. Since then, the site has been home to the Badgers. The Camp Randall Stadium went through renovation several times. It now features a total of 80,321-seats for the spectators.
The stadium features facilities such as the Field House, The Dave McClain Athletic Facility and The Camp Randall Memorial Sports Center or the Shell. The Field House housed the UW basketball team until 1998. The Dave McClain Athletic Facility was built in the memory of the late Badgers football coach, Dave McClain and it is an indoor practice field.
The Camp Randall Stadium played host to the Drum Corps International's world championships for several years; the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association's state football championships and exhibition games of the Green Bay Packers. Apart from the sports events, it has hosted music concerts including Pink Floyd; the Genesis and The Rolling Stones.
