The Cajundome is a multi-purpose arena located in Lafayette, Louisiana. The Cajundome is just a stones throw away from the Gulf of Mexico and right in the middle of Cajun country. The arena was designed with flexible seating arrangements for every type of events. The Cajundome was built in 1985 at a huge cost of $64 million. Currently, the Cajundome is home to the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns basketball teams of the University of Louisiana situated in Lafayette. Every year, it is also the venue for the Louisiana high school basketball state championship.

With a capacity of 12,068 seats, the Cajundome hosts many regional and national concerts along with a number of special events, such as World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) events. However, the most important even that the Cajundome hosts is the annual outdoor Cajun Heartland State Fair which is an eleven day state fair that attracts over 175,000 spectators. The Cajundome has also hosted the 1998, 1999 and 2007 Sun Belt Conference men’s basketball tournaments. Over the last few years, it has hosted concerts by Kenny Chesney, George Strait, Paul Revere and the Raiders and Nickelback along with other popular names in the entertainment industry.
In 2002 a new convention center was added to the arena which added 37,301 square feet of spacious exhibit hall space to the already spacious ground of Cajundome. Since its formation, the Cajundome is a recognizable landmark for the people of Lafayette as a special venue. This domed stadium serves as the perfect venue for fun loving people of the state.
