Cabooze is more of a neighborhood bar, but from time to time it has big-name groups like Seether. Each weekend, normally, groups from around the area will play at the stage. Once in a while Cabooze will take a break from the scheduled band or concert and will have an open mic night or a night of quiet, normally on a Tuesday.
Cabooze was originally known as The Guru, but Kent Boughton purchased the club from Erik Hemmingway in 1988 and changed the name. The owner used the club he enjoyed when he was attending at the University of Cincinnati as the inspiration for the layout of the club he owns now. Cabooze has now evolved into the coolest dive bar in the metropolitan area for shows.
