In fact this Bradley Center was a generous gift to the State of Wisconsin by philanthropists Jane Pettit and Lloyd Pettit in memory of Jane's late father, Harry Lynde Bradley. The Bradley Center is the only major, public assembly facility available in North America with the whole construction charges taken care of by a single family. Even though the Bradley Center was completed in the late 1980s, it is the 3rd oldest active arena used in the NBA after Madison Square Garden and Izod Center.
The Bradley Center with a total area of 550,000 square feet can accommodate 18,600 attendees for a basketball match, 17,800 for hockey and almost a crowd of 20,000 for concerts. While designing the arena, much emphasis was given on the flexibility aspect for making it a prefect venue for a number of events. Since its inauguration, each year the venue of Bradley Center hosts around 180 events, including sporting events, community programs, family shows, concerts by top artists along with other events. With superb facilities for a number of programs, the Bradley Center still continues to be the best entertainment destination in Downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
