The Arthur Ashe Stadium is located in Flushing Meadows Park in New York City. It is the main venue of the U.S. Open Grand Slam tournament. It was inaugurated in 1997 and acted as a replacement for the Louis Armstrong Stadium. The stadium honors the famous African-American tennis player, Arthur Ashe. He had won the inaugural U.S. Open in 1968. It is the headquarters of the National Tennis Center and features state-of-the-art broadcast and audio systems.
