The Safeco Field is a baseball stadium located in Seattle, Washington. Also known as the Safeco or The Safe, it is home to the Seattle Mariners Major League Baseball club. The inaugural game at the stadium was played against the San Diego Padres on January 15, 1999. The stadium features a retractable roof, the most comprehensive scoreboard system, a state-of-the-art field, an on-site restaurant, a baseball museum and many other amenities. The Safeco Field has hosted playoff games in 2000 and 2001. Besides, it was also the host for the 2001 MLB All-Star Game. Some other events held at the stadium include the 2001 college football Seattle Bowl and WWE WrestleMania XIX in 2003. This game set a record for attendance at the Safeco Field with around 54,097 people attending the game.
