Originally named as the Seahawks Stadium, the venue was renamed as the Qwest Field on June 2, 2004. The stadium in Seattle has been a host to various college football games such as the Washington State University home game each year since its opening in 2002 and the 2003 'Battle of the Palouse' against the University of Idaho. The NCAA Division II football teams of the Western Washington University and the Central Washington University play against each other every year at the Qwest Field. The stadium has also been a host to the Seattle Bowl (NCAA) in the year 2002.
The Qwest Field has a seating capacity of around 67,000 people that can be expanded to around 72,000 people for special events. The year 2008 includes some exciting games at the venue such as the Seattle Sounders vs. Portland Timbers, the Brazil vs. Canada Soccer and the WSU Cougars vs. Okla St.
