The Post Gazette Pavilion is an outdoor amphitheatre. This amphitheatre was opened in 1987. Since then it has been a venue for popular music concerts. The amphitheatre can seat nearly about 23,000 people. It has 7,100 reserved seats in the open-air pavilion and the remaining16, 000 seats in the general admission lawn.
In 1999, the highest number of fans attended the concerts ever. Over 650,000 people appeared at the venue for the performances by Jimmy Buffett, Steve Miller and some other famous bands. In 2006, Rascal Flatts, Jimmy Buffett, Dave Matthews Band, Kenny Chesney and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers were the performers at the Post Gazette Pavilion at Star Lake in Pennsylvania.
In the coming days the venue will host the likes of Dave Matthews Band with State Radio, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers with Steve Winwood, Steve Miller Band with Joe Cocker, Jimmy Buffett & the Coral Reefer Band, Vans Warped Tour 2008, Poison with Dokken & Sebastian Bach and the list goes on.
