The Cadillac Palace that was formerly known, as The New Palace Theatre is a popular theatre located in Chicago. Owned by the Nederlander Organization, the Cadillac Palace is operated by Broadway In Chicago. The doors of the Cadillac Palace were opened in 1926 as the New Palace Theatre.

Built at a whopping cost of $12 million, the Cadillac Palace was actually a part of the Eitel Block Project. The Rapp Brothers, George and Cornelius who were also the architects of the Ford Center for the Performing Arts Oriental Theatre and the Chicago Theatre designed the beautiful complex of Cadillac Palace. The interior section of Cadillac Palace is highlighted with huge decorative mirrors, breche violet and white marble. The inside walls of the Cadillac Palace look beautiful with gold leafing and wood decorations, along with detailed brass ornamentation.
In 1984 the name of the theatre was changed to the Bismarck Theatre and it was basically transformed into a rock venue. In 1999, the building went for a renovation after Cadillac purchased naming rights to the venue. After it’s re-opening, the Cadillac Palace has been the home to various pre-Broadway hits that has had a great economic impact on the city of Chicago. Since becoming a Broadway show theater, the Cadillac Palace has staged The Producers, Mamma Mia! and now the long-running hit Disney’s The Lion King. Even though the Cadillac Palace has been modified for many uses during its long history yet still has the beauty and charm that appeals to people to come here again and again.
