The Benedum Center for the Performing Arts is a theater venue in the Cultural District of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was formerly known as the Stanley Theater, however, in 1987 after a $43 million dollar renovation it came to be known as the Benedum Center.

The Benedum Center for the Performing Arts is home to the Pittsburgh CLO, Pittsburgh Dance Council, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater and the Pittsburgh Opera, as well as first-run Broadway touring productions. The art center was named the "Number One Auditorium in the U.S." by Billboard magazine.
The 2,800-seat Benedum Center features a stage comparable in size to the Paris Opera House and the New York Metropolitan Opera. Besides, it is also one of the few theaters in the United States large enough to stage full-cast, first-run Broadway shows. The Benedum Center is also quite popular among rock and reggae fans. The Grateful Dead performed two legendary shows at the Benedum Center and also it was here that reggae icon Bob Marley performed his last live concert on September 23, 1980, before his untimely death in 1981
