DELIRIUM is the first-ever live arena event by Cirque du Soleil. This is the latest offering that will make the tickets go dry. This is a multifaceted extravaganza of unprecedented scale featuring Cirque du Soleil music remixed. It features an urban tribal beat and awesome visuals, musicians, singers and dancers and display of technical magnitude. In Delirium, music acquires a new dimension. The texts are in French, Spanish, Wolof, English and Portuguese. In all, 21 of Cirque du Soleil's greatest hits which were originally by René Dupéré, Benoît Jutras and Violaine Corradi have been mesmerizingly re-mixed by Francis Collard. He is a Quebec producer, composer and arranger who injects new life into these powerful classics. The musicians will be the main performers and the music will be the driving force of this mega event.
DELIRIUM showcases 45 highly talented and multidisciplinary artists. Each artist has been selected on the basis of individual virtuosity. There are 6 singers, 11 musicians, 18 dancers, 2 main characters and 8 acrobats in all. An amazing 12 countries are represented in the troupe. There are two Americans too. Karl Baumann portrays one of the main characters and is from Las Vegas. Alexandra Apjarova is the dancer and belongs to New York. There are acrobatic dances choreographed by Dave St-Pierre. But the characteristic Cirque du Soleil feats as aerial,
acrosport and hand balancing stunts are not to be missed.
The North American Tour begins in Montreal on January 26th, 2006 at the Bell Center. It will be followed by two more shows on the 27th and 28th. It won't be long before the shows are a sell-out. So get in touch with your on-line ticket vendor to get the tickets for sure.
