About Fela!
The story begins from the beginning of his career, leads through the time he spent in prison because of his political views, through the time he ran for presidency, though the time he took office in his own imaginary nation, through it all until the very end.
Fela is portrayed perfectly by Sahr Ngaujah and accompanied by the band Antibalas from Brooklyn. The play is directed and choreographed by award winning director Bill T. Jones, who wrote the book with Jim Lewis. The show has been playing at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre since 2008 and looks like it will keep going.
