Seattle Sounders FC is the latest generation of a soccer team that has made its way through three leagues. The began selling tickets as simply the Seattle Sounders in the North American League from 1974 until the league folded in 1984. About The Seattle Sounders
The ownership group from the Sounders came over with the team, but whether or not the team would remain the Sounders was left up to the fans. In a vote that decided if the city’s soccer tradition would begin anew or keep with tradition, the old name one with a majority of the fan vote.
