Red Bull New York is an American professional soccer club formed in 1995 in Seacaucus, New Jersey as NY/NJ MetroStars, but in 2006 renamed to Red Bull New York, and the team is curently in the Major League Soccer. The team plays their home matches at the 80,242 capacity Giants Stadium which is located at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey but is currently constructing a new stadium named Red Bull Park and their colors are red, white, and blue. Reb Bull GmbH is the owner of the team, and Juan Carlos Osorio is the coach. The teams’ first game was played at Rose Bowl on April 13, 1996 against Los Angeles Galaxy with 2-1 finish for the Angels.

The team's best result in MLS play, was the MLS Cup semifinals in 2000 and in the US Open Cup, they reached three semifinals in 1997, 1998 and 2000, before finally reaching their first final in 2003, but lost 1-0 to the Chicago Fire. Clint Mathis set an MLS record by scoring five goals in a game against the Dallas Burn on August 26, 2000. Their main rival is D.C. United and their rivalry is perhaps the most embittered rivalry in all of MLS, but they have other rivals like the New England Revolution and the Chicago Fire. Amado Guevara, Adolfo Valencia, Lothar Matthaus, Youri Djorkeff and Roberto Donadoni were some of the teams’ high-profile international players.
