FC Dallas is a North American professional soccer team founded in 1996 as Dallas Burn in Frisco, Texas, United States and the team plays in Major League Soccer. Their home is the 20,500 capacity soccer-specific Pizza Hut Park and is located on the suburbs of Dallas in Frisco, Texas, and since changing their name in 2005, they are playing there. The Dallas is owned by MLS investor Clark Hunt, who is also the owner of the National Football League's Kansas City Chiefs and the coach is Steve Morrow.

The team is nicknamed FCD, Hoops, Toros and Red Stripes and their colors are red, white,silver, and blue. From their formation to 2002 the team played in the Cotton Bowl and their first game was also played there on April 14, 1996 against San Jose Clash with 0-0 finish. In an effort to save money the team played its 2003 home games at Dragon Stadium, which is a high school stadium in Southlake, a Fort Worth suburb, but after listening to its fans, they moved back to the Cotton Bowl for the 2004 season. They moved into Pizza Hut Park in August 2005, and to celebrate this move, they rebranded itself with a more soccer-fitting name, FC Dallas.
