Last year, USA led the competition by six encounters to three over their European counterparts. It was the ninth edition of the matches and took place from 9th-11th September, at the famous Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana. The Ladies European Tour has announced that they will compete in the next Solheim Cup, which will held in Sweden in 2007. Last time in 2003, they (LET) acclaimed a tremendous win in Sweden, when they won the Solheim Cup. The matches will be played from Sep, 14- 16th 2007, at Halmstad Golfklubb in Sweden; it is also associated with another important event, as Halmstad Community will be celebrating its 700 year anniversary. Like last time, The Swedish Golf Federation (SGF) will once again be the Host for this grand event and they will be joined by the Danish, Norwegian, Icelandic, and Finnish Federations as "Co-Host.'
