About People vs The Pros Championship

The tournament consists of one practice round on October 23, 2009, then followed with 54 holes of getting down to the nitty gritty with the pros on October 24-27th on the greens of the golf course Pinehurst. The competition will begin flighted with 2 hole play offs between the flighted winners in each age group. The winners out of these shoot-outs in the age division 18-49 will compete against Fred Couples and the winners from the age group 50 and over will compete against champion Nick Faldo. Each of these age groups will get to hold the benefit of their handicap and will enter into the championship on October 27th. The match will be televised on December 27th 2009.

The People vs. the Pros Championship was first played at Lake Las Vegas Resort in 2003. The two champions who played in the first People vs. Pro Championship were John Daly and Lee Trevino. John Daly beat his opponent while Lee Trevino lost to his opponent. The idea was then on, and other tournaments followed.

The 2nd People vs. The Pros Championships was played at Pinehurst Resort. The first six People vs. the Pros Championship were split down the middle in wins and losses. The proof was in the pudding that as long s the regular joe had a decent and fair handicap, the odds were level and the game could be won by that regular joe. What an excellent way for those golf lovers out there top get in a game with the real pros and beat them as well.

If you qualify with an acceptable handicap that is acceptable to the People vs. the Pros, the U.S.G.A., or the R.C.G.A. By September 30th, then you have made your first step towards competing against the champions by being eligible, excluding those players whose family is employees of the Pinehurst resort, Innovative Media Solutions, other sponsors and members companies, Winnercomm, direct subcontractors, printers of each of these entities, affiliates, subsidiaries and any members of their immediate families. Otherwise, if you are fulfilling these criteria, you are eligible for the next step into getting closer to winning 18 holes against pro players.
