The AT&T National is a PGA Tour event which is held in the Washington D.C. area during the Fourth of July weekend, and it is hosted by Tiger Woods and benefits the Tiger Woods Foundation. The first AT&T National was held during July 5-8, 2007, and, at least for its first three years, will be hosted by the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland. On March 7, 2007 the event was officially announced and replaced The International, which tour officials had abruptly cancelled on February 8, 2007, and the AT&T National does not use the Modified Stableford scoring system that the International used.

The Congressional Country Club originally agreed to host the event for the first two years, and after opting out of hosting the 2009 U.S. Amateur, agreed to host the event in 2009 as well. Tour officials had also considered courses in the Kansas City, Minneapolis-Saint Paul, and Portland areas for the new tournament, before the TWF announcement, and since the Congressional Country Club will be hosting the 2011 U.S. Open, the AT&T National will need to find a different host course. Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia and TPC at Avenel in neighboring Potomac, Maryland are the possible sites for the host course
