The 2008 Summer Olympics officially known as the 'Games of the XXIX Olympiad' will take place from August 8, 2008 to August 24, 2008. The opening ceremony will be commenced at 08:08:08 pm CST (12:08:08 UTC) at the Beijing National Stadium in Beijing, the capital city of the People's Republic of China. A sum total of 302 events will take place in 28 sports. At least 10,500 athletes shall participate in this world famous sports event.
