Starting life in 1993, the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, named after the 1992 Disney movie called “The Mighty Ducks,” lacked up the skates and went after their first puck drop in the then-named Anaheim Arena, which is now known as the Honda Center. Selecting future superstar Paul Kariya in the first round of the 1993 entry draft, the club would gradually build itself up through smart drafts and intelligent trades, finally breaking through to the playoffs in 1997, while managing to set off strong sales of Anaheim Ducks tickets.

Refusing to lose during that postseason, the team from Anaheim beat the Phoenix Coyotes in the first round before going down to defeat at the stick blades of the eventual league champion Detroit Red Wings. After skipping a year, the Ducks would quack their way back to the playoffs in 1999, again being run from the postseason by the Red Wings in the first round. This would serve to create a strong rivalry between the two clubs, and sales of Anaheim Ducks tickets were strong as a result.
That proved to be the team’s signal achievement, though, until the 2003 postseason, when the Ducks would once again take flight, storming back and laying waste to the Western Conference on the way to the Stanley Cup finals. Anaheim Ducks tickets became the thing to have in the Los Angeles area that year. They lasted all the way to Game 7 of those finals before finally conceding victory to the New Jersey Devils.
Goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere was the star of the season, and was named MVP of the playoffs for his stellar play. Unfortunately, the league’s next season came awash with a lockout of the players. This eventually resulted in cancellation of the entire slate of games. Disney sold the club after that, to the present owners (the Samuelis husband and wife duo). Anaheim Ducks tickets were still highly-prized, though.
2006-2007 was the year in which the stars aligned and it all came together for the club. All Star defensemen Chris Pronger and Scott Niedermayer led the team to the mountain top, skating their way to the Stanley Cup championship over the Ottawa Senators, after starting the season 12-0-4. Anaheim Ducks tickets sold out with regularity.
The next two seasons, though not as impressive as that Cup-winning year, would see the Ducks make it back to the playoffs and making a good account of themselves, going to the semifinals before going down once again to the Red Wings. Still, the fact that many folks were lining up to buy Anaheim Ducks tickets helped to gladden Ducks fans everywhere.
The 2010 season promises to be one of exciting hockey played on the frozen surface of the Honda Center and under the watchful eye of goalie Giguere, who looks to come back strong from an average 2008-2009 campaign. With the addition of Evgeny Artyukhin from Tampa Bay and stick wizard center Saku Koivu, the club looks to sell a lot of Anaheim Ducks tickets amid another campaign on the way to playoff success.
