New York Jets Tickets for Sale

Jets fans revel in the history of the Super Bowl and the franchise’s chance to shine in 1963. The brash Joe Namath was able to take the underdog Jets to the AFL Championship game against the Raiders and then provide playoff tickets to the Super Bowl against the Baltimore Colts and their own star quarterback Johnny Unitas. The Jets 16-7 win showed that the AFL was capable of beating the NFL and endeared Joe Namath to Jets fans for decades to come.

The Jets are coming off a last place finish in the AFC East and handed the team over to quarterback Kellen Clemens after Chad Pennington started the season 1-7. The club has been busy this offseaon, signing offensive lineman Alan Faneca and Damien Woody to solidify the line and linebacker Calvin Pace to help out on defense.

The Jets sixth pick in the 2008 draft can be used to upgrade a number of positions. The team needs to improve at defensive end, cornerback, and linebacker on defense and the needs a young receiver or a running back on offense.

Namath’s legendary guarantee of victory has outlasted the memory of his struggles in the 1970s. It would not be until Namath was long gone that New York would return to the postseason. A defense led by Joe Klecko and Mark Gastineau and quarterback Ken O’Brien brought back Jets playoff tickets to the Meadowlands. The fearsome twosome upfront would get to the quarterback for seasons to come, but the Jets could not get back to the Super Bowl. The last attempt came in 2006, but the season ended in an embarrassing wild card round loss to the New England Patriots.

This season the Patriots have suffered a crippling early season loss with Tom Brady being put on the injured list for the entire season. The timing gives the Jets, who picked up Brett Favre a couple of weeks before the preseason ended, their best shot at playoff tickets for a real run at the Super Bowl in years. Favre has a revamped offensive line that will let Thomas Jones run and give Favre time to find Laveraneus Coles and Jerricho Cotchery.

Unlike many other new teams, the New York Jets were successful from nearly their beginning in 1960. In 1965, the team would see some of its greatest success with quarterback Joe Namath who would lead the New York Jets ticket holding fans to the teams two consecutive AFC East division championship titles in 1968 then 1969.

This season the New York Jets with new head coach Rex Ryan have some hard work on their hands. Ryan is outspoken and likes talking with the media, always having something to say. Unlike the previous head coach, Ryan is quite a bit more player-friendly and the initial buzz has all been positive. We will see what happens though when the New York Jets tickets stop selling because the team goes on a losing streak, which is quite possible with a new rookie quarterback starting.

The regular season schedule is now infused with excitement and anticipation as the new offense and the stingy defense now have a shot at a title within the AFC East. Jets playoff tickets could be in the future for a division suddenly without a favorite and a season muddled with questions and hypothetical situations.

New York’s relentless rushing attack was led by Shonn Greene who racked up 76 rushing yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. LaDanian Tomlinson had 43 rushing yards in the game as well.

There can’t be enough said about the Jets defensive play against the New England Patriots. First off, they only allowed 372 yards of total offense in the game and held the Patriots without a touchdown in the first half. The Jets defense rattled quarterback Tom Brady, sacking him a team playoff-record five times. They also forced Brady’s first interception since week four and caused three fumbles.
