Starting life in 1967 as an expansion team down in the Big Easy, the team would struggle just a bit for much of its early history, failing to make the playoffs until 1987. This doesn't mean, though, that the Saints didn't have a number of great players. Quarterback Archie Manning, father of the famed NFL quarterback-playing brothers Peyton and Eli Manning, played for many years in the Big Easy. Perhaps the greatest run of New Orleans Saints success in the last decade of the last century came from 1990 to 1992, when the team made three straight postseason appearances, giving rise to a slogan in New Orleans that was quite memorable. The phrase "Who ‘Dat? was quite often repeated during these heady and exciting times, which often saw sales of New Orleans tickets go through the Superdome roof.
Much of the remainder of the 1990s for the team was something of a challenge, though the city never gave up on its beloved Saints. Good times would be there again, however, in 2000 when the Saints once again made an appearance in the playoffs, which would be preceded by only its second division title, and a win -- its first-ever in the playoffs of any type -- over the St. Louis Rams, a fact which led to a frenzy of fans lining up to buy New Orleans Saints tickets.
The interim between that playoff appearance and the team's next postseason activity in 2006 would be marked by a few ups and a few downs, including having to relocate and play its games elsewhere after Hurricane Katrina decimated the city in 2005. However, the New Orleans Saints proved to be strong and would win their third divisional championship in the team's history, helping to prove the fact that New Orleans Saints tickets were now something special.
The New Orleans Saints play their football in the Louisiana Superdome, in the National Football League's South Division of the National Football Conference. Joining the league in 1967, the Saints have a long history in the NFL, some of it quite colorful and interesting and some of it of the nature that would make most football fans scratch their heads in bemusement. What's for certain is that today's New Orleans Saints are a force to be reckoned with. They have a total of six postseason appearances, and have been a good team in this new millennium, making two postseason appearances, and selling a lot of New Orleans Saints tickets.
