This Denver Broncos team is not the same that began the season with Kyle Orton at quarterback. Now, as the Broncos play in the 2012 NFL playoffs, they follow Tim Tebow, a confounding quarterback playing more like a high school star than a pocket passer in the pros. There will be no more games at the Sports Authority Field at Mile High but they have the rest of the postseason to try and deliver the first Super Bowl since John Elway was the starting quarterback and not the Vice President of Football Operations.

However, even Broncos fans know that Tebow is not going to lead this football team to the Promised Land unless he is able to make the kind of passes he did in the first round. Denver certainly can run for 10 yards at a time, but now he appears able to hit 60-yard completions. He will need to repeat his performance every round until the Super Bowl.
The Denver Broncos last played in the Super Bowl 1998. This was the second Super Bowl victory in a row. These two seasons were also the last of a legend’s career. John Elway had been the franchise quarterback since 1983 and had taken the team to the playoffs 15 times, and reaching the Super Bowl a total of five times. The Broncos did not win until the late 1990s though.
Before Elway, the Denver Broncos had struggled to find a quarterback before him. From 1960 to 1983 the best player they had behind center was Craig Morton. Morton led the Denver Broncos to their only other Super Bowl in 1977, though they lost to the Cowboys.
Denver Broncos tickets have been available at Mile High since the franchise first took the field in 1960. Now, with Tim Tebow in a leadership position, perhaps a better title for his role, the team appears finally ready to dominate the AFC West for years to come.
The Denver Broncos chose the system over the talent after trading away Cutler. This leaves the team with Kyle Orton as the starting quarterback in a new system designed by new head coach Josh McDaniels. The Denver D will have to improve drastically as Orton does not have nearly the arm to put up the kind of points given up last season.
