The Nevada Wolf Pack is a college basketball team that represents the University of Nevada. It is located in Reno, Nevada and was established in the year 1874. The athletics team of the university participates in the NCAA Division I (I-A for football) and in the Western Athletic Conference. The university is popularly known as Nevada for all athletics purposes.

The Nevada Wolf Pack men's basketball team is nicknamed as the Wolf Pack. It was founded in the year 1914. The Wolf Pack is currently a member of the Western Athletic Conference. It is a Division I conference in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The basketball team had been affiliated to various other conferences in the past such as the Pacific Coast Athletic Association, the West Coast Conference, the Big Sky Conference and the Big West Conference. The Wolf Pack has won 18 regular season conference championships and 4 conference tournament championships. In March 2004, the team qualified for the NCAA tournament and even advanced to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time in school history. Max Fox is the head coach of the team since the year 2004.
The Lawlor Events Center is home to the Nevada Wolf Pack men's basketball team. The arena was inaugurated in the year 1983 and has a seating capacity of around 11,784 people. The arena has been a host to the Big Sky Conference, the Big West Conference and the Western Athletic Conference. In the years 2009-2010, it will host the Western Athletic Conference basketball tournaments.
