About Music City Bowl
According to the history of the game that begins from 1998, the first Music City Bowl was held at the Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. Though the move to LP Field, home of the Tennessee Titans in 1999, was just a change. The inaugural game was sponsored by the American General Life & Accident (AIG). From 2000 to 2001, there were no sponsors for the game, but in 2002, Gaylord Hotels associated itself with the game by sponsoring it that year and the game was then named as Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl. Then in 2003, Bridgestone took over the presentation charge and the game was known as the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl presented by Bridgestone. With the collaboration of these two Nashville based sponsors, the game received an overwhelming response and gained the desired recognition.
Initially a matchup between the strong representatives of the Southeastern Conference against the Big East Conference was featured in this Music City Bowl game. In the year 2002, the Big Ten Conference replaced the Big East. With the arrival of the 2006 season, the Atlantic Coast Conference took the place of the Big Ten Conference. There have been many remarkable moments in the history of the game that actually make the football lovers go crazy watching the game.
