The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs and Lady Techsters are the athletic programs that represent the Louisiana Tech University in the NCAA Division I. About The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs football team is a member of the Western Athletic Conference. It has been competing in the NCAA Division I- Football Bowl Subdivision since the year 1989. Prior to this, the Bulldogs have competed in the NCAA Division I- Football Championship Subdivision and Division II levels. Some of the notable alumni of the university include Charles Wyly, Willie Roaf, Karl Malone and Terry Bradshaw. Derek Dooley currently coaches the Bulldogs. By replacing Jack Bicknell, he has joined the team for the year 2007 season. Earlier, he was the tight ends coach for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League.
The Louisiana State Bulldogs football team plays its home games at the Joe Aillet Stadium. It has been the site for the team since the year 1968. The stadium is also home to the Louisiana Tech Lady Techster soccer team. This facility was inaugurated on September 28, 1968 with a seating capacity for 23,000 attendees. Its current seating capacity is for 30,600 spectators.
