Sanctioned by the NCAA, the Humanitarian Bowl is a Division I FBS, college football league game. The Bowl Game is an annual event and it currently hosts matches between teams from the Western Athletic Conference and the Atlantic Coast Conference. Micron Technology, an Idaho-based manufacturer, under the name of Crucial.com, formerly sponsored the Humanitarian Bowl. Currently the game runs under a new sponsorship and it is now known as the Roady's Humanitarian Bowl. The bowl game has the distinction of being the longest running cold weather bowl game currently in the U.S.
The Roady’s Humanitarian Bowl is primarily held at the Bronco Stadium, which is located on the campus of Boise State University in the state of Idaho. Inaugurated in the year 1970, the stadium has a total seating capacity for 30,000 spectators. Bronco Stadium also serves as a track & field stadium and has also been the venue of the NCAA track and field championships in the years 1994 and 1999. The Stadium is the home field of the BSU Broncos team, which is the official football team of the Boise State University athletic program. The BSU Broncos are members of the Western Athletic Conference and Chris Petrersen is the current head coach of the football team.
