From amongst the post-season NCAA-sanctioned Division I-A college football bowl games, there is one name that will always be popular for its dedication and consistency in the games. It is the GMAC Bowl that has been played every year since its formation in 1999. The game is played at Ladd Peebles Stadium located in Mobile, Alabama. It features a Mid-American Conference (MAC) representative against a representative from Conference USA. Initially, the GMAC Bowl was known as the Mobile Alabama Bowl. The change in the name indicates the corporate sponsorship from GMAC Financial Services that was formerly a unit of General Motors. In the beginning of the New Year, there is an interesting match between the Tulsa and Bowling Green teams.
