The Arkansas Razorbacks are the sporting teams representing the University of Arkansas and are located at Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Arkansas Razorbacks nicknamed 'Hogs' fall under the umbrella of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and are led by Director of Athletics Jeff Long. The Arkansas Razorbacks Men's Basketball Team represents the university in the NCAA Division I basketball competition. In the NCAA Division I Basketball Tournament 2008, the Hogs lost in the second round to the University of California. The name Razorbacks is essentially used for the men's basketball team, whereas the women's basketball team is aptly known as 'Lady'Backs'. The Arkansas Razorbacks registered their NCAA tournament win in 1994 over Duke University, under the able leadership of Nolan Richardson. The Hogs have appeared in the 'Final Four' of the NCAA Division I Tournament in 1941, 1945, 1978, 1990, 1994 and 1995.

Eddie Sutton: Eddie came on-board in 1975 and stayed with the Arkansas Razorbacks till 1985 until Nolan Richardson replaced him. In his 11 years reign as the head coach of the Hogs, Arkansas came first or tied for the first position four times at the Southwestern Conference. Eddie had only two failed seasons in which he was unable to take the Arkansas Razorbacks to the NCAA placing. However, for the rest of the seasons, Arkansas was invited for the NCAA and 1978 turned out to be their best season when they entered the 'Final Four'.
Nolan Richardson: Nolan took control of the Arkansas Razorbacks in 1985 and kept them under his guidance till 2002. Nolan proved to be a blessing in disguise for the Arkansas Razorbacks and they had the best run of their career under his command. During Nolan's 17 seasons as the head coach, the Arkansas Razorbacks made the NCAA tournament 13 times and also figured in the 'Final Four' in 1990, 1994 and 1995 seasons.
