They play their home basketball games at the 10,325 capacity Littlejohn Coliseum, which is located in Clemson, SC, and it is named for James C. Littlejohn, class of 1908, the school's first business manager. The Clemson Tigers basketball team is a college basketball program that competes in NCAA Division I and the Atlantic Coast Conference, and the team is currently coached by head coach Oliver Purnell, and Purnell has guided the Tigers to higher win totals each season that he has been the Tigers head coach. On March 16, 2008 they were defeated with 86-81 by the University of North Carolina in the 2008 Atlantic Coast Conference Championship game.
The Tigers share a fierce rivalry with the South Carolina Gamecocks, of which South Carolina owns a 86-72 series lead. The Tigers have won the last 4 games in the series.
