Those postseason hopes will only come true if Jose Calderon is able to continue his performance from last season. The passing first point is key to getting Bosh, O’Neal, and Anthony Parker the touches they will need to compete in the Atlantic Division. Parker is the shooting guard with the streak stroke in the starting lineup while Jason Kapono is the catch and shoot small forward who can terrorize teams for doubling O’Neal or Bosh. The starting lineup will provide pretty good defense with a decent front court with lanky Jamario Moon getting his long arms in the passing lanes and using his athleticism to cause problems.

The current Raptors do not have a player with the kind of explosive ability as Carter, but few teams do. This version of Toronto features the lanky Chris Bosh. Bosh is tall and skinny, but strong. Though he is not big enough to become the offensive and defensive force in the paint many would like to see out of a power forward, he is an extremely active rebounder with a great outside shot for a taller player and slippery post moves that leave the bigger strong players helpless. The addition of Jermaine O’Neal to the club gives the Raptors that post presence they lacked last season. Now Bosh can excel as a mismatch with just about any power forward in the league. That post presence and a free Bosh could even lead to playoff tickets for a few games at Air Canada Centre.
