Unfortunately, the season after began the team’s new struggle to go back to the postseason. Years passed as, despite Kevin Garnett’s best efforts, the Target Center remained closed after the regular season without any postseason games on the schedule. This led to the trade of Garnett to the Celtics. The Wolves now entered the rebuilding mold as it became apparent that playoff tickets were not in the cards with huge contract of Garnett in the way. This season will be the second season that Minnesota plays with the new young pieces they hope will complete the puzzle. Al Jefferson is post player with size, strength, and skill. He could become one of the most dominant big men in the league in a few seasons. Jefferson will have Foye feeding him the ball. Foye is trying to prove that he can make in this league as a point guard after spending much of college lighting up opponents. Proven veteran help comes from Mike Miller. He shooting guard loves to launch it from three and will get plenty of chances without many other obvious scoring options. Rodney Carney is an athletic wing man who could be that other option, but he has yet to prove he can shoot the ball in this league. Kevin Love will get a chance to start his rookie year at power forward. This will be his chance to show that he is athletic enough to play in the NBA. The Wolves are probably going to have a tough time this season, but if the right players have breakout seasons then nobody knows, maybe the playoffs will come back north.
