Milwaukee Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks history is one with its glories entrenched in its early years. Those years brought the fortune of bring the team Oscar Robertson and Lew Alcindor. The superstar and the superstar in the making collaborated in the franchises third season to lead the team to a 66-16 record and playoff tickets to an NBA Finals match up with Baltimore Bullets. The sweep of the Bullets stands as the lone Finals series victory for the franchise. Three seasons later the Bucks returned to the NBA Finals, but the Celtics overcame Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s offensive prowess to take the series in seven games. Since then players like Terry Cummings, Sidney Moncrief, and Jack Sikma helped Milwaukee on its way to the third best record over the course of the ‘80s, though those seasons never went farther along than the conference finals. >> More alt

About The Milwaukee Bucks

The new season for the Bucks will depend on the ability for the offense to keep up its coring. The Bucks will be this season’s Denver Nuggets, without any defensive all star in the middle. Milwaukee has shooter in Michael Redd, Charlie Villanueva, and Richard Jefferson. The trade that brought them Jefferson helped open up the roster to let the Villaneuva take up his role as the starting power forward after coming back from a back injury. Luke Ridnour is not most defensively proficient or deadly three point artist as a point guard, but he is a facilitator who wants to pass the ball when ever possible. That pass first, second and third (if possible mentality) is going to be necessary for the team to succeed.

The Bradley Center will not see much defense from this bunch. When Bogut, Villanueva, and Jefferson are in the front court the coaching staff can scream about defense all they want, but they know that these players are only thinking about what’s going on their side of the court. The bench is full of defensive role players ready to keep the other team’s flood of points under a little control. The Milwaukee Bucks are not out of the postseason picture despite this lack of defensive intensity. The Eastern Conference is a conference that will let any team that does anything well have payoff tickets. The Bucks may not be the team playing in the finals, but they will be plenty of fun to watch as long they are able to hang around.
