The Grizzlies have two histories, one in Vancouver and the other in Memphis. The one in Vancouver is bare of much more than season after season of lottery picks. The Memphis half actually has some postseason experience thrown in there. From the 2003-04 season o the 2005-06 season the Grizzlies were able to get the fans playoff tickets to FedEx Forum. The team was led by Pau Gasol. With Mike Miler as the sharpshooter and veterans like Damon Stoudmire, Bobby Jackson, and Eddie Jones on the roster the team put together seasons that broke through the postseason barrier in the ultra-competitive Western Conference. Each season was met with a series sweep though, first by the San Antonio Spurs, then by the Phoenix Suns, and lastly by the Dallas Mavericks.

This season the Memphis Grizzlies are leaving things to the potential on the roster. The front office traded away Pau Gasol in an effort to cut the salary cap to attract a buyer, so the Grizzlies are leaving the season to the young players already signed. Rudy Gay was a killer last season and his stats will be off the charts this season as the losses keep piling up. If the team is to make a run at playoff tickets, then over the course of the regular season schedule Darko Milicic will have to learn how to look good in an actual game and not just practice and Hakim Warrick will have to use his athleticism for more than just jaw dropping dunks. Mike Conley will have to take a few steps forward quickly as well. Still, if thing go badly, then fans will get a nice long look at O.J. Mayo and Darrell Arthur.
