The Minnesota Timberwolves professional basketball team has played in the National Basketball Association since their creation as a new expansion team in 1989. Based in Minneapolis, team calls the Target Center home. The ‘Wolves (or T-Wolves, which are the two nicknames the team is most known by) brought basketball back to a town which had last seen NBA play in 1960, the final year before the Minneapolis Lakers decamped to Los Angeles. They’ve experienced playoff success on several occasions since their birth, along the way selling a great many Minnesota Timberwolves tickets.

One of four expansion teams to join the league that year, the T-Wolves (the nickname was the result of a “name that team” contest) began play on November 3, 1989, a road loss to the veteran Seattle Supersonics. Preseason sales of Minnesota Timberwolves tickets were strong. Led that year by Tony Campbell, regular season Minnesota Timberwolves tickets would sell like hotcakes, with season attendance exceeding one-million people, an NBA record.
The following season would see the Wolves make the move to the Target Center, their current home. They’d also improve their win total for the season by 7 games over the year previous though that amount of games would prove to be elusive the following season, when they backslid slightly. However, a couple of strong drafts which garnered them players like Isaiah Rider and Christian Laettner proved to be the salve that would see even greater numbers of Minnesota Timberwolves tickets be sold.
1994 proved to be a memorable year, and one in which the team would play host to the NBA All-Star game, where Rider would win the slam dunk contest with a series of out of this world dunks. And even though consistent winning basketball proved to be an elusive thing, the team continued to sell large numbers of Minnesota Timberwolves tickets
Timberwolves fortunes would begin to improve, however, in 1995 when McHale selected high school phenom Kevin Garnett in that year’s entry draft. The rookie would have a good first season, averaging 10.4 points per game, proving that real basketball skill pays no attention to biological age. Excitement over the rookie’s performance helped to keep Minnesota Timberwolves tickets a desired item.
The following season would finally prove a breakout for the team, when they made the playoffs for the very first time and saw not only Garnett but also player Tom Gugliotta make the All-Star team. Their playoff experience was mainly about learning how to survive in the postseason and they went home relatively early. In 1997, Minnesota Timberwolves tickets again became an even stronger attraction under the play of the ever improving Garnett. Under the long, lean player the Timberwolves finally broke the .500 barrier, going on to their first winning season in franchise history.
They again made the playoffs that season along with the season following, in 1998 under the strong on court generalship of the now superstar player Garnett. Another good season and another playoff was in store for them in the 2000 season, and a great many Minnesota Timberwolves tickets were sold as a result. 2001 would see the Timberwolves make the playoffs for the fifth straight year, led from the front office by Kevin McHale.
The next couple of years would see the team from Minneapolis continue to make the playoffs and also continue to improve their regular-season winning totals, culminating in a 58 win season in 2003-2004. A key injury to star player Sam Cassell would keep them from the finals, but Minnesota Timberwolves tickets had never been more popular. The years since have seen the Timberwolves say goodbye to Kevin Garnett and also begin a rebuilding process that is projected to eventually land them back in the upper ranks of the NBA elite.
For 2010, the Lakers will be going with new head coach and former Los Angeles Laker star Kurt Rambis to lead them from the bench while players like Chucky Atkins and Ryan Gomes attempt to take it to the competition. Minnesota Timberwolves tickets are projected to be quite the item to have in the team expects great improvement.
