The Sharpie 500 is one of the stock car races held at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee. The speedway is one of the shortest raceways, which has World's fastest track. It is often referred to as the “World's Fastest Half Mile.” It was opened in 1961 and hosted its first NASCAR race, the Volunteer 500 on July 30 in the same year. Formerly, the speedway was known as the Bristol International Raceway and Bristol Raceway. It is an oval track with banking degree ranges from 24 to 30. The distance is only 0.533 miles. The arena is also the home to an another car race, the Food City 500.
