The Auto Club Speedway is located in Fontana, California. It is a two-mile long track that is low banked and formed like a D-shaped oval. The banking at the frontstretch is 11 degrees and at the backstretch it is 3 degrees while at the turns it is 14 degrees. The length of the frontstretch is 3,100 feet while the length of the backstretch is 2,500 feet. The International Speedway Corporation owns the track that was inaugurated in the year 1997. It has a seating capacity of around 92,000 people and is an excellent venue for hosting various racing events.

The Auto Club 500 racing event came to be known by this name in the year 2003. The first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race under the name California 500 was held at the Auto Club Speedway in the year 1997. Jeff Gordon won the inaugural race while Kyle Busch won the racing event in the year 2003 when the event was renamed as the Auto Club 500. Some other renowned drivers who have participated in the event and won it include Mark Martin, Jeremy Mayfield, Jammie Johnson, Rusty Wallace, Greg Biffle and Matt Kenseth.

The Auto Club 500 is a famous racing event that is generally held in the month of February every year. It consists of 250 laps that cover a distance of around 500 miles. Jeff Gordon is the most successful driver at the event having won it three times in the past. Carl Edwards won the Auto Club 500 racing event in the year 2008.
