The Subway 500 was a NASCAR Sprint Cup stock car race that was held at the Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville in Virginia. It is now popularly known as the Tums QuikPack 500. The event has previously been known by various other names such as the Old Dominion 500, the Goody's 500, the Hanes 500 and the NAPA Autocare 500.

Tums is the current corporate sponsor of the race that was inaugurated in the year 1950. The venue for the racing event, the Martinsville Speedway was inaugurated in the year 1947. The International Speedway Corporation owns and operates the track that has a seating capacity for around 65,000 people. It is a 0.534-mile long oval track with 12 degrees banking at the turns. The length of the front stretch and the backstretch is 600 feet. The speedway has also been a host to some other racing events such as the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.
The Subway 500 racing event was popularly known by this name in the years 2003 to 2007. Herb Thomas was the winner of the first race that was held in the year 1950. The event has been a witness to some thrilling performances by many drivers. Some of the past winners of the event include Frank Mundy, Jim Paschal, Lee Petty, Speedy Thompson, Rex White, Fred Lorenzen, Richard Petty, Junior Johnson, Nelson Stacy, Joe Weatherly, Bob Welborn, Jack Smith, Cale Yarborough, Buddy Baker, Darrell Waltrip, Dale Earnhardt, Rusty Wallace, Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch, Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Burton. Darrell Waltrip and Richard Petty have won the event 6 times in the past.
The Subway 500 or the Tums QuickPack 500 consists of 500 laps and covers a distance of around 263 miles. Jimmie Johnson is the present champion of the event as he won it in the year 2007. In the year 2008, the racing event will be held on October 19.
