The Advance Auto Parts 500 was a NASCAR Sprint Cup stock car race that was held at the Martinsville Speedway. The event is now popularly known as the Goody's Cool Orange 500. The Goody's sponsors the event that was inaugurated in the year 1949. The event has also been previously known by various other names such as the Virginia 500, the Virginia National Bank 500, the Sovran Bank 500, the Hanes 500 and the DirecTV 500. The Martinsville Speedway that is a host to the event is located in Virginia. The International Speedway Corporation owns and operates the track and it was inaugurated in the year 1947.
