Milwaukee Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers got their name from the city’s association with the brewing industry. The Milwaukee Brewers ticket holding fans go to the Miller Park to watch the team play their home games. The team originated in Seattle, Washington and were known as the “Seattle Pilots”. In 1969 the team played for one season and were acquired in a bankruptcy court by Bud Selig who is the current Major League Baseball commissioner and the team moved to Milwaukee. Milwaukee Brewers tickets in recent years have been in steady demand. In 2008 the team won their postseason berth after 26 years after their appearance in the World Series as the Wildcard team in the National League. The Brewers struggled at first, producing nine straight losing records. The team began to turn things around in 1978. The club was heavy on power hitters with Cecil Cooper, Ben Oglivie, and Gorman Thomas. The club that had finished near last before was now finishing near the top of the American League East. The first East title was brought home in 1981 and the second the following year in 1982. >> More alt

About The Milwaukee Brewers

In 1969 the Brewers won their very first game and also won their home opener three days after , but this team won only five more times in the first month and didn’t recover. Sadly the team finished last in the West with a record of 64 – 98, 33 games out of first. The Milwaukee Brewers tickets weren’t so hot at this time because the team were playing less than impressive games and the club was going through a lot of financial troubles as well.

During the 1970 season the team didn’t do too well and finished 65 – 97, which was just a one game improvement over 1969 season. The team would not have a winning season until 1978, but this did not seriously affect the sales of Milwaukee Brewers tickets because the team had other special moments that made fans want to watch them play. The Club had acquired Hank Aaron back to the team and the club also acquired long standing baseball fans favourite players such as Jim Ganther, Gorman Thomas, Robin Yount, Cecil Cooper and Don Money. The addition of these crowd favourites increased the sales of Milwaukee Brewers tickets greatly.

In 1978 the Brewers won 93 games a very good improvement from the 1977 season. The team finished 6.5 games out of first, this results pleased fans with Milwaukee Brewers tickets, because this was also the first time a Milwaukee based team would be a factor in the pennant race since the Milwaukee Braves (in 1960) finished second in the National League. The following season, the team finished second in the East and were behind the Baltimore Orioles on account of the team’s home run power, which was led by Cecil Cooper, Gorman Thomas and Ben Oglivie. In 1980 the team finished third and went on to win the second half of the 1981 season – which was divided due to the players strike – the Brewers played the New York Yankees in a playoff mini-series, unfortunately they lost. The loss grieved Milwaukee Brewers ticket holding fans because it was the team’s first playoff appearance.

The team won the American League pennant in 1982 and everyone with Milwaukee Brewers tickets was ecstatic. The Brewers’ creative production that season was slamming and they were nicknamed the “Harvey’s Wallbangers” (this happened to be a play on the popular drink Harvey Wallbanger and the Brewer’s team manager Harvey Kuenn) because the Brewers led the league in runs and home runs.

Milwaukee Brewers tickets were clearly the hottest tickets in town during the 1982 American League Championship Series where the team beat the California Angels three games to two. These victories made the Brewers become the first team to win a five-game playoff series after they have trailed two games to zero. In the World Series, the brewers played the St. Louis Cardinals where they did pretty well but St. Louis Cardinal triumphed, which grieved every Milwaukee Brewers ticket holding fan.

The team produced three league MVP’s in during the 1980’s and they are; Rollie Fingers in 1981, and Robin Yount who won twice in 1981 and 1989. Now the team hopes to bring back those glory days at Miller Park with players like Prince Fielder, Ryan Braun, and Yovani Gallardo.

2009 Season Preview

It is quite unfortunate that the team will be without CC Sabathia, Guillermo Mota, Ray Durham, Ben Sheets, Gabe Kapler, Russell Branyan, Brian Shouse and Salomon Torres but anyone with Milwaukee Brewers tickets should expect a pretty good performance from this team because the team’s line up of added pitchers are Braden Looper, Jorge Julio and the all time save leader Trevor Hoffman. Also added this season is Chris Duffy and Casey McGehee.
